"Once Upon a Lifetime" is owned and operated by the Mayes Family,
primarily by Sara, the book designer and editor, with assistance from her husband,
Tom and plenty of inspiration provided by their two boys.

Sara's background includes twenty years as a newsletter editor for various organizations
including her current position with the Adoption Group of Orange County as their
newsletter editor and a member of the Executive Board. She also edited and self-published
a collection of adoption stories and poetry to help raise funds for the
Casa Quivira Foundation for Children which supports orphaned children in Guatemala.

In addition, her writing has been published in Adoption Today Magazine ,
RainbowKids, and various adoption organizations' newsletters including:
Families With Children from China (FCC),
Families for Russian and Ukrainian Adoption (FRUA),
Adoption Network, Ours Through Adoption, and After You Adopt.
